While the College of Music allows a bard to more fully utilise their instrument, the College of Performance grants much the same ideas as the Musician class. A college of performance bard can initiate performances that bolster their nearby allies or hinder their enemies, giving more utility to their musical abilities. I wouldn’t recommend running a College of Performance Bard and a Musician at the same time, however, as they can easily steal one another’s thunder. This variant is interesting in that there is a complexity to the strategies required to use it effectively; one must balance being in the right position to give their boosts, while choosing a location that is out of harm’s way, as once a performance has begun a bard cannot move without ending it.
