Having skipped over the ranger, as one of the most unique in terms of spells and with little to expand on without compromising the balance of the ranger’s spellcasting, the next instalment in the unique spells series is the sorcerer. While I love the sorcerer and the draconic ancestry sorcerous origin, that’s about where the flavour of being a sorcerer ends. The class chapter is opened with epic flavour text of innate, destructive powers that wreak havoc on the world… and the best a sorcerer can do is everything a wizard can.

This spell compendium, the longest of the series, adds over 45 new spells made specifically for a sorcerer. These spells play upon the ideas of destructive, powerful magic that comes from within, rather than from the studies of an old tome. Very little utility specific spells to be found from a powerful sorcerer. Additionally, a number of spells’ effects rely upon what kind of draconic ancestry a sorcerer has, or if they’re a wild surge. A new mechanic to 5e, but not unseen in Dungeons and Dragons before.

This was easily one of the more enjoyable compendiums to make, and the sheer amount of versatility they add to the sorcerer that differentiates them from the wizard is exciting, at least to me.
